How rare is Rare Beauty?

How rare is Rare Beauty?

I have been curious to try Rare Beauty, founded by Selena Gomez, since it was first launched in 2020. All the reviews I have read are good.  The YouTube videos only say good things about it. So I decided to wait, and wait some more, until now with the launch of the powder highlighter. I have tried three products from the brand.  Let me tell you what I think.

The soft matte lipsticks come in ten shades. They have very delicate soft pink and gold packaging. I’ve never been attracted to very busy packaging, especially on lipsticks because, depending on how elaborate they are, it can damage the inside of a bag. The bottom side it’s innovative: with a small click, the barrel pops out. It’s one of the best formulas I have ever tried. It’s very hydrating and light on the lips. It does transfer and it needs to be reapplied every few hours. I don’t mind reapplying lipstick and this is no different, especially since it doesn’t claim to be transfer-proof. View lipsticks here.

The liquid blush is really impressive. It comes in 11 shades. I have tried several brands of liquid blushes, so how does Rare Beauty stand out? When they say that we only need a bit it is not a lie. I applied three small dots on one side and, oh boy was I surprised! It was more than enough for both sides. I like my blush to be noticeable yet not overwhelming. I used a brush to blend and it was a dream. One of the things that impressed me the most is that it stayed on perfectly while having a rosacea breakout. When my rosacea flares out it can be so intense that some cream products can melt away. I am looking forward to trying other shades. View blushes here.

Now the star of the show makes a debut! Being a highlight lover this is very exciting to me. The shade Exhilarate it’s a gorgeous champagne gold. This is an ultra-silky powder with an iridescent glow and it comes in four different shades. Unlike other press highlighters, it takes minimal effort to be picked up by the brush. The fallout is almost inexistent and it glides smoothly to the skin. It also works very well with the liquid blush. If you like a subtle glow, please be aware, because this powder can go from subtle to intense in a blink of an eye. The powder is fine and it reminds me of the Hourglass formula. I highly recommend it. With my experience with highlighter powders, I would dare to say that this powder would look good on all skin types and on mature skin. And, as if it isn't enough,  it does not emphasize the texture of the skin. View highlighters here.

The only regret I have about this brand is not trying it before. In conclusion, what is so rare about Rare Beauty? That is a high-quality brand at very affordable prices. Still not convinced? No problem, go to Sephora and try a swatch, you won’t regret it. Thank you for spending time with me. Until we meet again. Shop collection here.
